Last Night In Berlin

Sun 9 Jul

We went on a tour of the Berlin Wall, but the guide was a bit boring so we cut him loose. It was strange not to be on the receiving end of a cutting-loose.

We took care of some admin around the house and then set ourselves up at Luise, the local biergarten, to have dinner with the Hansens before the World Cup Final. Rather entertaining game. Zidane getting sent off was a bit of a tragedy, and I still don't know the full story behind it. Well done to Italy winning in penalties (after 1-1 at full time).

Afterwards we just hung out with the family. Not the huge final night in Berlin I thought might happen, but tomorrow in Prague will more than make up for it!

Perfect Score

Sat 8 Jul

Aaron and I thought some shopping might be on the cards, so we trained to a few suburbs for a bit of a looksie. Didn't find what we were looking for so we headed to Friedrichstrasse and then walked to The Berliner Dome. Very impressive cathedral, and we climbed to the top for a spectacular panoramic view of Berlin.

We grabbed a döner and a beer for dinner and then secured a good seat at Media Club. It did rain a little, but it was all over before kick off. Germany defeated Portugal 3-1, so two games in a row I have picked the score perfectly. I think the final tomorrow will be 2-1 France.

We met Jannis and his friends for a drink, but it got a bit late too quickly so we missed out on drum 'n bass.
